Transylvania is a region that is locatd in the central part of Romania, near the Carpathian Mountains. Transylvania is widely known for being the place from which Dracula, Count of Bram Stoker’s novel. The landscape of the region is also very characteristic because of its mountainous terrain, dark forests and mysterious castles.

Transylvania is a region steeped in history. Region of separation between East and West has been at war numerous times by disputes between the Dacians, its inhabitants before the arrival of the Roman empire, the Slavs, followed by Austria, Hungary and Romania.

The capital of Transylvania’s Cluj, a place atop a plateau that can be the beginning of a path of castles and legends. Some places not to miss are the castle in Transylvania for Bram and Lake Rosu.

No doubt the Bran Castle is one of the greatest attractions of Transylvania, and that’s where she lived the cruel Vlad Tepes, inspiration for the character Count Dracula. This bloodthirsty prince, the son of Vlad Cracul, and legend who died in the late fifteenth century fighting with 200 of his men against an army of 120 thousand Turks who besieged him. His nickname, “the impaler” comes from the pleasure I had to torture of his enemies and traitors: The cross with a blunt stick to the person, to die slowly.

Bran Castle is located in Sighisoara, and enter the place is being conformed by the legend of Vlad Tepes thanks to the perfect preservation of the countryside in the castle where we can still see 11 towers and cobbled streets which make it a strong medieval character and legend.
