For the Finnish people, Suomenlinna Fortress is not only a usual fortress. Many remnant after the battle between the Finnish troops and the enemy’s troops could be encountered in the Suomenlinna Island. Really unclear how many the soldier and the Finnish people died to defend this. The only fact is, in the fortress that occupied four big and small islands, the Finnish soldier could block the attack of the enemy’s troops.

Now, this fortress became one of one of the best tourist attractions in Finland. But, although the building still in a good condition, the atmosphere of the building was still leaving the horror of the warfare period in the place.

The trip to the fortress in Suomenlinna could be carried out by using the inter-island connecting motor boat from the Port in Katajanokanlaituri, Helsinki. With 5 Euro ticket for the boat, tourists could enjoy the trip with time followed around 15 minutes then. The ticket’s tariff  already including the cost for the admission ticket to the area of the fortress.

Want to see the fortress closer? Come to this spot, located in one of Finlandia, one of the closest country to the pole.
