Cyprus, the Mediterranean culture

For lovers of cultural tourism, Cyprus is a must on your travel agenda. This Mediterranean island of some 9250 square kilometers is located between the coasts of Turkey and Syria. The capital, Nicosia, has the peculiarity of being divided by the so-called green line since 1974, both politically and culturally, between Turks in the north and Greeks in the south.

Dry summers and mild winters, this island of the Mediterranean climate, which was once famous for its lush forests of cedars and today has a landscape more arid, has lost its natural charm intoxicating. Admire the impressive Kyrenia mountains along the northern coast, and, more to the center, the Troodos mountain range.
