The British newspaper The Guardian in its edition of February 16, 2007 has published a “Top 10 beaches in the world” and has selected beach Rhodes the Cies Islands as the best beach in the world. This beach Galician followed in classifying other from Colombia, Brazil or the Philippines. Gavin McOwan, author of the report refers to this beach as a “crescent Perfect smooth, pale and covered by small dunes, sheltered by a quiet lake of crystal clear water”.
The reporter also speaks of the beauty of the Cies, gastronomy and offering accommodation options nearby. Compares McOwan clear turquoise waters and white sand with Caribbean Rhodes. Only a small difference points out, the chill of the crystal waters.
Cies Islands form an archipelago located off the coast of Galicia in Spain, at the mouth of the Ria de Vigo. They were declared a Natural Park in 1980 and are included in the National Maritime-Terrestrial Park of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia declared in 2002.
This archipelago consists of three islands, Monteagudo (North Island), the do Faro (Middle Island) and San Martino (South Island). The island has finished do Faro de Monteagudo coupled with an accumulation of sand on the inside of the archipelago, on the east side of the islands that form the beach of Rhodes, of 1,200 meters. At high tide, water flows between the two islands of the West Face, and blocked by the beach, filled the lagoon formed between the sand and rocks.

The three islands are mountainous with steep west face, with nearly vertical cliffs and numerous caves formed by erosion from wind and waves. Face something that is more gentle slopes covered by forest and bush and is protected from the Atlantic winds.

We also believe that the Cies Islands are especially beautiful.
