Puerto Rico – every traveler must have this spot listed on to his or her travel list at some point in time. This island located in the eastern Caribbean is extremely popular for its majestic white sand beaches, crystal clear waters and extremely abundant marine and terrestrial life.

So for those of you who are planning to finally get that long overdue break, read on and learn about the basics of travelling to the Caribbean today!

Travel essential # 1 Getting there

There are generally two ways to get to the Caribbean and that is by air or by sea. For those of you who want to make the most out of that vacation, the best choice would be to get there by plane. It is much faster option and will not eat up too much of your time. For those who want to take it easy and slow, then a boat ride will do perfectly. There are also many cruises that pass through the Caribbean Islands – this way, you can start the relaxation and fun even before you reach your destination.

Travel essential # 2 Accommodation

The island offers a wide range of hotels and accommodation services for all kinds of travelers. For those who want to get the most luxurious of breaks then there are many world class hotels all over the region that can pamper you through the whole of your trip. For budget travelers, there are also plenty of hostels and affordable rooms that you can rent for the duration of your stay. Remember, to make your stay as smooth as possible, make sure that you have clear and confirmed reservations with the hotel of your choice.

Travel essential # 3 When to go

Although the Caribbean has basically two seasons only (the wet and the dry), the best time to visit the islands are during the first four months of the year where the weather is just right for going around the island. But remember, the Caribbean is composed of different islands and occupy a very wide area. Hence, the weather may be different from one island to the next. So decide what island exactly do you want to visit and start your inquiries from there.

Travel essential # 4 What to bring

Caribbean beaches are best place to strut those summer outfits. Never forget to bring the right sun protection – sun block, hats and so on. But aside from that, it is also recommended that you also take light jackets to keep off the cold at night.

Being prepared has always been the secret to worry-free travel. So plan ahead and research as much as you can. The area is one of the friendliest tourist destinations in the world so there is no reason for worries.

If you want to get the best deals on accommodations, then you can also make use of Puerto Rico all inclusive offers that you can find online.

Article by Erin Keaveney

Travelers looking to visit the Caribbean but worry about the expense might be surprised to find that an affordable vacation isn?t as unattainable as they might think. With a few smart tips and a little bit of research, a cost-efficient Caribbean vacation is easily within reach.

Planning the travel

One of the biggest factors to consider when looking for affordable travel deals to the Caribbean is timing. Taking your vacation during an off-peak tourist time can mean instant savings on everything from airfare to accommodations to car rentals.

December through April are generally considered the busiest tourist times in the Caribbean, as they overlap with school vacations, spring break and holiday getaways. September through November are seen as off-peak tourist times, as the weather can be less dependable and less people are looking to take a tropical trip.

When booking air travel, taking a flight midweek can save money as fewer bookings on Tuesday and Wednesday tend to mean much less expensive airfares than the busier weekend flights. Staying flexible on departure and return flights and times can mean a savings of a couple hundred dollars per person.

Though it seems counterintuitive when trying to pinch pennies for your trip, using a travel agent when planning can actually help you save money. Choose a trusted agent who comes recommended from a friend or colleague to give expert advice, help compare pricing options and get the inside scoop on the best deals.

Accommodations

No matter which Caribbean destination you choose to visit, it?s best to think outside the box when booking accommodations. Whether you?re looking for lodging by land or by sea, consider all your options to find the best deal.

Hotels are an obvious go-to choice. Opting for all-inclusive resorts is not always the best option, as your food, beverage and activity options can be limited. Tourists looking to explore their chosen Caribbean vacation destination will likely want to shy away from all-inclusive, since you pay for the meals at the hotel, whether you eat them or not so are in effect double paying. Seek out hotels that offer some packaged meals, such as breakfast and keep your options open. For families, try and find places with discounts for kids, including free meals or hotel stays. Choosing resorts that offer free nights for guests who stay for a certain length of time can also add great value to a vacation.

Activities

There are plenty of fun activities all over the Caribbean that vacationers can enjoy for little or no money. Visiting beaches or national parks with no entry fee offer the perfect venue for a low-cost daytrip. Save even more by bringing your own towels and a picnic lunch, cutting down on chair rental costs and meal expenses.

Taking public transportation is also a great way to save, as rental cars and taxi cabs can definitely add up. Many islands have buses that are only a dollar or two per person, but only the patient need apply: public transit in the Caribbean tends to forgo formal scheduling, as most buses just depart once they?re full. When traveling between islands, opt for local ferry transport instead of private charters.

If you?re planning on shopping on your trip, be sure to check the local exchange rates, as it varies throughout the Caribbean. Avoid using ATMs for withdrawing cash, as international bank fees can be exorbitant. When shopping at local markets, don?t be too shy to haggle with the vendors to get the best deal. Being a smooth talker is often the way to secure the best savings!

There are so many different islands located in the Caribbean where you can dive into the most beautiful waters in the world and experience some of the beauty of tropical fish and other sea creatures under the sea.

If you have a yen for scuba diving, whether you are a novice or an experienced diver, you should make Caribbean travel plans. Most of the Caribbean islands are very popular with scuba divers because of the colorful reefs and pristine beaches.

Under the sea, there is much to explore. You can look at caves and even shipwrecks as well as the many sea creatures that make the Caribbean their home. Some of the best Caribbean travel islands for scuba diving include the following:

Anguilla

Angulla is one of the more luxurious of the Caribbean islands and is one of the top vacation spots in this region of the world. The reason for this is the beaches. You can choose an all inclusive resort that includes its own villa or stay at a simple hotel. After a day of scuba diving, you can enjoy a night at one of the top notch restaurants on the island.

Antigua

This island is only 108 square miles but is covered with reefs along the base and is a perfect island for scuba diving. There is even a small forest on the island. Many people who travel to the Caribbean go sailing fro Antigua.

Barbados

Americans are just now discovering Barbados and all it has to offer, including fantastic diving opportunities. This tiny island is very friendly and offers some first class resorts as well as all inclusive accommodations. Whether you are looking for something grand or something on a budget, you can find it in Barbados.

Cayman Islands

Located just off the coast of Key West in Florida, the Cayman Islands consist of three different islands. You can find apartments to rent, inns and even rent out a condominium in the Cayman Islands, which are very close to Central America. Scuba diving is a lot of fun in this west Caribbean island.

Grenada

Grenada is another popular destination in the Caribbean for scuba diving because of the many finger coves that surround the island. If you are really into adventure, you may find Grenada well worth visiting. This is not a touristy type island, unlike most of the Caribbean islands, but it is very adventurous and divers will enjoy the scenery, as will anyone else.

Trip Advisor is a secure website that offers potential customers the chance to search information about specific travel destinations and Caribbean travel reviews. The site offers people the opportunity to read reviews about places they have not visited. For people who have visited the targeted destination they can leave reviews about restaurants, hotels, flights, and just about anything else related to the trip. Reviews give an inside glance into the services and facilities of businesses that people are looking to visit. The website also allows customers to book travel plans using their site. The site allows people to reserve motel rooms and even book flights to their destinations. Trip Advisor will give the searcher several choices and their prices for the selected services. They help save people money and time by providing convenient tools to research, book, and provide Caribbean travel reviews about their trips and vacations.

The company has made it a point to allow Caribbean travel reviews to be written about companies in an attempt to promote excellence in service and accommodations. When a person has a great experience at a hotel or restaurant they visited in the Caribbean they often will want to share it with others. By doing so, the next generation of travelers can read the Caribbean travel reviews and use them to base their decision of whether or not to visit the location. Trip advisor is an internationally known site that has more than 150 million viewers that use the site on a consistent basis. So far there have been more than 250 companies that have come along side of Trip Advisor and promote their content all over the internet. Over 30,000 different domains display the site on the web in an effort to take advantage of the popularity of Trip Advisor. Hotel owners and business owners alike are realizing the influence that Trip Advisor brings to their popularity. They have noticed that over 25 million people visit Trip Advisor partnered sites on a regular basis.

How to Put Trip Advisor to Work for You

Trip Advisor is a fun and easy way to research Caribbean travel reviews and book travels plans. Caribbean destinations are one of the popular choices that travelers are picking for their families. Trip Advisors has a tool that will help you plan a Caribbean vacation. The site gives ideas that people can do and the area of the world that they would like to do those activities. The site will then display recommendations of where the selected activity can be experienced. Each destination is accompanied by a description and a list of businesses and services found in that location. Caribbean travel reviews are then provided for the traveler to read over. Once the potential customer has read over the Caribbean travel reviews they can then proceed to book their travel plans all on one convenient site.
Trip Advisor also gives readers the chance to see detailed pictures of their destinations. So they can not only read Caribbean travel reviews about the services and accommodations, they can also view photos of the places. Photos have a way of showing what words fail to describe. Some travelers like to look at the pictures so they know what to pack and know what to expect when they arrive.

Should you find it a difficult task deciding where to go in the Caribbean, Trip Advisor has a section where travelers can ask questions. They can ask about potential restaurants or activities from a group of people who have already experienced the fun. Caribbean travel reviews can be performed in a more interactive manner by using this approach. Travelers can speak with reviewers on a more personal level than by just reading Caribbean travel reviews.

Once you have finished your travels to the Caribbean islands, Trip Advisor gives an easy way to post your review of the destination. Simply go to the site and click on the review tab. Once there you can provide your Caribbean travel review for others to read and they can base their next vacation on what you have experienced.

You have set out to make your next vacation as memorable as possible and learn about Caribbean Travel. You will wonder what is so special about a Caribbean Travel Guide? Or are they just patronizing materials designed for commercial purposes?

Well, they are a little of both actually. After all, the people behind Caribbean travel guides do need a source of income in order to continue to publish their guides. Without a doubt a tremendous amount of research has been placed in these guides to just dismiss them as mere sales gimmick.

You would wonder that these days you can get all the information by searching on the web, but not all the time.Nothing can beat a Caribbean travel guide in terms of convenience and content

And believe it or not, it’s always much more gratifying to pull out a Caribbean travel guide from your carry case, flip a few pages open, then slip it right back when you’re tried of reading. It sure beats having to wait in the airport, sitting bored silly and wondering whether or not your flight’s going to be delayed.

That said, don’t cling to travel guides religiously. Many travelers make that mistake. They are not the bibles that they are made out to be by some people. You should know that published materials, including travel guides, are out of date the moment they are published, because by then, there would have been new updated material that came up and it would be too late to include them.

We shall now set out to decide how to use a Caribbean travel guide. How would you know which information to believe and which facts are outdated? Unfortunately, there is no exact answer to that. To get the most out of your Caribbean travel guide, use them sparingly for basic orientation. Then try to discover the place on your own. That is, after all, what traveling is all about – adventure and discovery of new things. At the very least, when all other signs look foreign, the information on museums and places of interest are great.

Now, choice of hotels and restaurants in highly individualistic. Remember that bargains rise in price with popularity, so there’s every bit of chance that that hot new deal in your Caribbean travel guide isn’t much of a deal anymore, considering how pricey it has become. And then sometimes, too, the places get easily full with foreigners and travelers like you, so you can’t always expect your Caribbean travel guide to point you in the right place all the time.
