Angel Waterfall, The Exotic in an Isolated Jungle

Angel Waterfall is the highest waterfall in the world with a 979 meter tall. This spot located in Canaima National Park, in the territory of Gran Sabana, Bolivar State, Venezuela, this waterfall was very high, that cause before reach the land, the water stricken by the wind and became the fog. The official height of this waterfall was determined by National Geographic Society in 1949.
This amazing waterfalls listed in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1974. Angel’s Waterfall’s named based on the American pilot of Jimmie Crawford Angel that flew on this area for the mining expedition on November 16, 1933.
Despite first time being seen in the beginning of the 20 Century by the explorer Ernesto de Saint Cruz, this waterfall was not known the world until was found officially by the American pilot, James Crawford Angel who fly looked for the location of the goldmine. In 1936, James Angel came back and landed his aircraft near the waterfall. This waterfall was named Angel’s Waterfall to recall his discoverer, James Crawford Angel. The Indian Pemon ethnic group acknowledged this waterfall as Auyan-tepui (Aiyan-tepui) that mean the Satan Mountain.
Angel’s waterfall is one of the greatest attractions of tourists in Venezuela. Nevertheless, it’s not easy to visit this waterfall. This waterfall located in the Venezuela isolated forrest. Moreover, this waterfall could not be seen when there’s a cloud. The river trip could be generally carried out around June till December. In a dry season (December-March) we can only see a very small amount of water in the waterfall.
