Hammamet is a city on the coast of Tunisia, a country in North Africa, between Algeria and Libya. This country is predominantly Muslim, the official language is Arabic but many of its inhabitants also speak French, the national currency is the Tunisian dinar and the climate is characteristic of countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea.

This population, Hammamet, it is holiday and has a port on the southern coast of the peninsula that ends at Cape Bon. It has long been known as a beautiful place, with great beaches and many hotels that cater the demand of visitors who arrive from other parts of the world, particularly Europe.

In the village we can see a small medina, a souk for shopping and to practice the art of bargaining, a fifteenth-century Spanish fort that surrounds this souk, the Grand Mosque and a museum containing a collection of traditional costumes Tunisians. We can also make a trip to some other town near as Zaghouan which is a picturesque mountain village with gardens and a Roman nymphaeum.

Do not fail to enjoy the typical Tunisian dinner inspired by a folk group at a local outdoors in summer and covered by a large tent (sort of tent made of goat hair) in winter. The Tunisian cuisine is based on the use of olive oil and spices like anise, caraway, cinnamon or saffron, mint used for flavoring, orange juice or rose water. The Tunisian cuisine, like all Tunisian culture, composed of local traditions and foreign contributions, is the result of a combination of its Know-how and enrichments from diverse backgrounds and eras. Typical dishes include couscous are national, bricks (thin pancakes with vegetable stuffing), tagines (meat chopped and cooked), merguez (spicy sausage) and ojja (a sort of ratatouille).

Its charming riverside aromatic hidden in trees such as orange, jasmine and cypress trees and other fruit, the charm of its winding alleyways that make up a charming maze, the harmony of colors in this fascinating Mediterranean beauty where the whites of the whitewashed houses, mixed with the yellow of sunlight and pure blue sky and water make this a dream setting where we can enjoy an unforgettable vacation.
